New Rates Approved At its regular meeting held on May 27, 2008, the City of Norwich Board of Public Utilities Commissioners approved new electric and natural gas rates and fees. The proposed rates and fees were the subject of a public hearing held on May 13, 2008 and were filed with the City Clerk on April 25, 2008. Rates and Fees are effective for all billings on July 1, 2008. |

On February 19, 2008, the City of Norwich Board of Public Utilities Commissioners approved the proposed water rates. Water rates, with the effective date of March 1, 2008, are found on the Residential Rates and Commercial Rates pages respectively. Copies of the water rates are available at the Office of the City Clerk, City Hall, Union Square, Norwich, and at the Norwich Public Utilities Customer Service Center, 173 North Main Street in Norwich. These rates will become effective for all billings on October 1, 2008 as identified below. NORWICH PUBLIC UTILITIES WATER RATE Available to all metered customers, whether Residential, Commercial or Industrial. Applicable to the following rates: WRES, WCOM, WIND, WNPU, WPUB RATE: Customer Charge, Per Month The monthly customer charge shall be determined by the size of the customer’s meter installation as follows:
Private Fire Line: Billed monthly based on the size of the unmetered fire connection(s) to NPU water mains.
WATER USED:
MINIMUM CHARGE: The minimum charge is the Customer Charge. All active water accounts having no water use charges will be billed a minimum charge. This minimum charge covers costs associated with service requirements, including metering, maintenance and infrastructure costs. LATE CHARGE FEE: A penalty charge equal to 1.5% of the unpaid balance compounded monthly is added to all bills not paid within 25 days of the billing date. EFFECTIVE: For bills rendered on or after October 1, 2008 |
