NPU leading the way on regionalization

As the State and many communities across Connecticut continue to navigate through a challenging budget environment, the case for regional partnerships has never been stronger.

And with the approval of $5 million by the State Bond Commission recently, Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) and the Town of Sprague will provide another example of the practicality and value of communities working together to benefit the taxpayers in their towns.

Eruv neighborhood new to Norwich – but have been around for centuries

Earlier this year, NPU met with representatives from Congregation Brothers of Joseph and the City of Norwich to learn more about their plans for establishing an Eruv, which is an important religious boundary that is established around several neighborhoods that include Jewish homes.

NPU launches new and improved online bill payment system

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve customer service and to increase efficiency in our operations, NPU is pleased to announce a new program to improve our online bill pay services. Starting in June, we began working with Invoice Cloud to provide you with greater ease and flexibility in viewing and paying your utility bill each month.

Stackstone Group announces downtown Norwich revitalization project

The Stackstone Group announces the launch of its revitalization project of downtown Norwich.  The company has partnered with Norwich Community Development Corporation (NCDC), Patriquin Architects, and several engineering and construction firms to transform multiple properties on Broadway. Construction is scheduled to begin in this summer and continue through summer of 2018.

15 Commercial customers earn $194,893 in rebates for efficiency measures

During the second quarter of 2017, fifteen local businesses received $194,893 in rebates from NPU for installing energy-efficient lighting in or around their facilities. In addition to the rebates, these customers will save an estimated $111,224 on their energy bills each year going forward.
