Reporting Utility Service Issue

In fulfillment of that mission, we?re we are standing by to address the needs of our customers regarding service disruption or other issues. Our control room is open and accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year – even holidays!

For natural gas emergencies: Call 860-887-7207.

  To report an outage, disruption, or other problem with your utility service: Call 860-887-2555.  

Please do not use email or social media (Facebook, Twitter) to notify NPU of an emergency utility issue.

The Control Room Operator will take the necessary information and dispatch a crew immediately. Again, please do not use email to send an outage notification.

Streetlight bulb replacement is done on a routine basis. If you notice a streetlight out or flickering in your neighborhood, please email NPU with the pole number and location (including nearest cross street). We will add this information to the active streetlight repair task list. 

  To report on a water quality or sewer service issue: Call 860-887-2555. 

  To report on powerlines at risk due to overhanging tree limbs or storm damage: Call 860-887-2555. 

Note: In many cases, if trees or branches are interfering with the power lines, NPU will arrange to have trees trimmed, or even removed at no cost to the customer. If you are concerned that a tree on your property is interfering with, or may damage the power lines, please call us for a consultation.
